BIG GREEN EGGS
These enormous eggs range in size from 450g to 700 g; the smaller ones being laid by the younger females. In the UK, laying season is December to April and a female will lay an egg every 3-4 days.
THE GANG
The emus are social birds, who enjoy interacting with one another. They need plenty of space as they love to run - reaching speeds of up to 35-40 miles per hour. They're the second largest bird in the world, often reaching 6 feet tall. In captivity they can be really docile and rarely behave in an aggressive manner unless provoked. Six foot fencing is necessary, as they have the ability to jump over anything lower with relative ease.
